The wood screw is similar to the machine screw, which can be directly screwed into the wood component (or part). It can be used to connect a metal (or non-metal) part with a through-hole with a wood component. This kind of connection is also detachable.
The main category of the wood screws
The main material of the wood screws is iron and copper. Dividing from the nailhead, there are the round head, flat head type, and oval head type. As for the nailhead, there are two types of slotted screws and cross-slotted screws. Generally, round head screws are made of mild steel and are blue. Flathead screws are polished. Oval head screws are usually plated with cadmium and chromium. They are often used to install hinges, hooks, and other hardware accessories. The specifications are determined by the rod diameter, length, and nail head type.
Main characteristics of the wood screws
For wood screws, one section is a polished rod, and wood screws have different thread angles and pitches from self-tapping.
Self-tapping screws have high hardness, wide thread spacing, deep threads, and non-smooth surfaces. Wood screws are the opposite. There is no thread in the back section of wood screws. Self-tapping screws are generally heat-treated, wood screws are not.
